Job Summary: The Counselor will be responsible for scheduling and providing individual and family therapy to adolescents on their caseloads. Job responsibility includes, but is not limited to, completing clinical assessments, getting authorizations from insurance, developing and maintaining a treatment plan for each youth, writing session notes within 24 hours of a session, participating in CFTMs as needed, participate in Utilization Reviews, attending treatment teams to discuss therapeutic direction of each youth, setting up appointment times for individual and family therapy, maintaining files, submitting monthly documentation to youth’s case worker, and any other job duties as they are assigned by administrator or upper management. This position may be part of ratio during business hours as needed for youth/staff ratio compliance and in ratio for emergency/crisis situations as assigned by management.

Schedule: M-F 11:30 am - 8 pm + shared rotational weekend on-call times

Clinical supervision towards licensure may be available to the Counselor if needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or psychology required. Must be license eligible and on path to obtain licensure (LPC, LMSW/LCSW, LMFT)
  • Prefer one (1) year experience in therapy, preferably in substance abuse
  • Knowledge in TFCBT preferred
  • Motivational interviewing and other therapeutic models will be of benefit.

Physical Requirements (BFOQ):

  • Ability to participate in Handle with Care restraint training as required
  • Ability to verbally communicate clearly in English so as to make presentations
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods
  • Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, step climbing steps
  • Keyboarding abilities
  • Able to travel as required by auto, plane, etc.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Work extended hours as needed (>40 per week)
