RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for the coordination of the Enhanced Level III services and providing professional development for staff on the units during the second shift.  The position provides quality youth care, and close intensive supervision of staff and adolescent clients in a residential setting during second shift.  In addition, this position is responsible for providing and overseeing a range of residential assessments, treatment planning, support groups, individual and family therapy, skills training, and lectures for the educational purpose of the enhanced substance abuse program during second shift.  This position will oversee the tracking and reporting of adolescents’ treatment progress and will provide appropriate staff leadership during second shift.  The Assistant Program Manager Will Assist and facilitate referrals and oversee all admissions to the units and manage multiple priorities and program components for second shift. This position may be part of the ratio during second shift as needed for youth/staff ratio compliance and in ratio for emergency/crisis situations, and as needed to be in ratio as assigned by management. This position will also serve as a floater between sides to ensure the wellbeing and safety for staff and clients. This position will have a rotating schedule for the second shift to include weekends. This position will cover the second shift in a management role and will assist and work to educate hourly staff. Must be able to transport.

 

1.              The role of the Assistant Program Manager is to understand the principal method for monitoring the treatment model and ensuring the quality of care for the substance abuse treatment unit, supervision of the treatment, staff, and adolescents during second shift. Assistant Manager will be familiar with and understand mental health, and addiction that includes treatment knowledge, understand terms, and concepts that are related to the theory, etiology, research, and practice.
2.          This position will meet with staff scheduled to work on second shift bi-weekly (or weekly if deemed necessary) to monitor job performance, provide professional development, and ensure a high quality of care and treatment for all adolescents on each unit.

3.             Assistant Program Manager must be knowledgeable about the continuum of care, the social context that affects the treatment, recovery process, and provide documentation and/or information for treatment team and meetings that occur before your shift.

 4.           Assistant Program  Manager will provide group therapy and Case Management to adolescents and families in the absence of clinical staff and must have the ability to communicate oral and written information clearly.

  5.           Assistant Program Manager must communicate with Clinical Director and Program Manager and /or counselor to convey pertinent treatment issues or any concerns about the unit. A shift report to be emailed to the CEO, VP, and appropriate staff.

  6.           Assistant Program Manager will oversee assessments, contact notes, discharge plans, and supervise all treatment components for adolescents on the units during second shift. Assistant Manager will be responsible for writing notes/concerns for treatment team, treatment direction on the units, and adherence to the treatment model.  The Assistant Manager will oversee all floor staff and ensure that all treatment components are being met for the adolescents on both units during the second shift. Assistant Manager will be responsible for supervising and training of floor staff.

  7.           Assistant Program Manager will rotate on-call crisis intervention.  This position may be part of the ratio during second shift as needed for youth/staff ratio compliance and in ratio for emergency/crisis situations as assigned by management.

  8.           Assistant Program Manager will identify and educate staff about the influence that a client’s culture, lifestyle, gender, and any other relevant factors may have on behavior and treatment.

  9.          Assistant Program Manager will ensure that necessary documentation related to adolescents’

                progress, plans for transition, engagement of family, and treatment goals as related to second shift.

  10.         Assistant Program Manager must understand and apply specific agency policies and procedures for handling crisis and / or dangerous situations, including safety measures for adolescents and staff, and ensure that appropriate staff are aware of such situations.

11.            Assistant Program Manager may be requested to sit in interviews (that are scheduled during second shift) and hiring of staff for both units as outlined by the agency manual.

12.           This position will work second shift with a rotating schedule/rotating weekend with other staff to include on-call rotation as needed.

 

13.           Assistant Program Manager will perform other related duties as assigned or required for the success of the unit.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field: and two (2) years related experience in the human services field working with children or in a residential treatment setting, and 2 years of supervisory experience in Human Services Field.  Knowledge and experience with adolescents with behavioral, alcohol and drug issues, as well as dual diagnosis and CSEM youth would be helpful. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to do Handle With Care restraint training and restrain as required (BFOQ)
  • Ability to verbally communicate clearly in English.

  • Lift up to 40-50 pounds
  • Work extended hours as needed (>40 per week)
