Job Summary:

The Youth Residential Worker is responsible for assisting in the coordination of residential services and providing professional treatment and care to adolescents. In addition, this position is responsible for providing a range of residential support groups and skills training services to adolescents and families, tracking and reporting on adolescent’s treatment progress, and providing peer leadership. Individual is expected to work cooperatively in a teamwork environment. This position will be part of ratio for youth/staff ratio compliance. This position is responsible for the direct supervision and safety of all residents on the floor through consistent shift monitor. YCW/YSW staff member promotes and enhances a client-centered and goal supportive environment at all times.

Open positions are 3rd shift from 11:45pm – 8:30am. Must be available weekends and holidays.

Full-time benefits include: $500 sign-on bonus, health/dental/vision/life insurance, 403b retirement plan, and generous paid time off.

Essential Functions:

  1. Closely supervise residents at the facility and on outings. Routinely check on clients and complete documentation.
  2. Take appropriate action in accordance with training and/or agency guidelines in managing behaviors and promoting a safe environment.
  3. Make every effort to see that agency rules are enforced, and that policies and procedures are followed.

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a children’s services program, as a caregiver or CNA, or as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is preferred. Volunteer, practicum, and internship experience in programs/facilities that work with children and families may be counted as relevant experience.
  • Must be 21 or older due to age of client population and DCS requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Possess average and above visual and auditory capabilities in the supervision of adolescents
  • (BFOQ:) Be physically capable of meeting Handle with Care (restraint) requirements
  • (BFOQ:) Have no health conditions that would prevent participation in restraint requirements
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Able to squat, bend, stoop
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Able to walk and/or run a quarter mile continuously, and/or climb steps/stairs as necessary
  • Ability to remain conscious and alert if/when scheduled to work late night/early morning hours
