Job Summary:

The Youth Residential Worker is responsible for assisting in the coordination of residential services and providing professional treatment and care to adolescents. In addition, this position is responsible for providing a range of residential support groups, recreation activities, and skills training services to adolescents. Individual will be responsible for tracking and reporting on adolescents’ treatment progress and providing peer leadership. This position will be part of ratio during business hours as needed for youth/staff ratio compliance. This position is responsible for the direct supervision and safety of all residents on the floor through consistent shift monitor. 

Schedule: 3:30 pm until 12:00 am. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
 

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a children’s services program, caregiving, as a CNA, or as a direct support professional (DSP) is preferred.
  • Must be 21 or older due to age of client population and DCS requirements.
  • Volunteer experience and practicum and intern experience in programs/facilities that work with children and families may be counted as pertinent experience.
  • Must have a strong mentality with the ability to maturely handle teens

Physical Requirements:

  • Possess average and above visual and auditory capabilities in the supervision of adolescents
  • (BFOQ:) Be physically capable of meeting Handle with Care (restraint) requirements
  • (BFOQ:) Have no health conditions that would prevent participation in restraint requirements
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Able to squat, bend, stoop
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Able to walk and/or run a quarter mile continuously, and/or climb steps/stairs as necessary
  • Ability to remain conscious and alert if/when scheduled to work late night/early morning hours
